(FTW = for the win) in case you were unsure, or maybe its just an English thing
So, I,Sonia-Green, am the worst procrastinator ever-its pretty awful to be honest-"The Fear" has to set in, which usually happens like 10 hrs before deadlines, for me to get my act together, once "the fear" has set in I work really fast and accomplish in an hour what it would usually take 10 to do, it still sucks.

However, procrastination also has one major plus side- productivity! My Twitter.com/SoniiDoll73091 status last night was "If only I could harness the desire to complete all manner of unnecessary tasks & use it for essay writing purposes, I would have already completed a PhD!" which I think is pretty accurate!

When you have this week rearing its ugly head, combined with extreme procrastination = major productivity! And yes, you see that correctly, class on Easter Monday - a HOLIDAY!! =(

SATURDAY && my YOGA class experience

YOGA initiationS;
After my first try at yoga yesterday,
i think its something worth pursuing, for me at least.
With my muscles shrinking and my joints creaking away, all that slow stretching would definitely help. but the key is to take it slow & easy bcos overstretching can be just as bad as not stretching at all, or maybe even worse.
In the 1 hour session, i was introduced to a couple of the usual poses for beginners.
- Downward facing Doggy/ stretches & strengthens the whole body.
- Cobra Pose/ increases flexibility of the spine.
- Camel Pose/ streches the front of the body & increases flexibility.
- Tree Pose/ strengthen legs & improve balance
- Cat-Cow Stretch/ increases flexibility & abdominal strength.
- Extended Triangle Pose/ stretches & strengthens legs, groins & hamstring
- Warrior Pose 1, 2 & 3/ strengthens legs & back.
- Mountain Pose/ basic standing pose
- Staff Pose/ basic sitting pose
- Child's Pose/ relaxes in between poses
- Corpse Pose/ relaxes at the end of each session.
After doing a little online research(googling of course lol)i know now that i had gone thru a Vinyasa Class i.e. a lot of movement incorporated into the stretching, which suits me just fine.
Dunno... we'll see ;p If i can keep up with it
And just for the record, its the benefit from all that controlled stretching & breathing that i'm seeking, not the yogic philosophy or way of life.

CARESSA CAMERON WASN'T LOOKING TO BE A BEAUTY QUEEN when she entered the Junior Miss Fredericksburg Pageant at the age of 14.

What she wanted was a soapbox. After losing her Uncle Robert to AIDS when she was 8, Cameron had spent time volunteering with organizations dedicated to educating the public about the disease.

If she won a crown, she reasoned, she’d be invited to schools and churches, where she could spread that message to fellow teens.

“I thought, ‘I’m just going to do this thing and if they like me, they like me and if not, oh well,’” said Cameron, now 22 and a senior at Virginia Commonwealth University. “And they liked me.”

She won that pageant and quite a few more. In June, the Massaponax High School graduate earned the title Miss Virginia.

She’s used each victory to promote the cause of HIV- and AIDS-prevention, speaking candidly about risky behavior, urging teens to ask questions and get educated, and working hard to remove the stigmas associated with the disease.

She competes in the Miss America Pageant in Las Vegas Jan. 30, where she hopes to impress the judges with her poise, knowledge of current events and a stirring rendition of “Listen” from the film “Dreamgirls.”

But mostly, she said, it’s a key opportunity to take her message about AIDS to a national stage.

“The challenge is that some people don’t want to talk about it,” she said. “It’s kind of like the elephant in the room, and we can no longer ignore the elephant in the room when the next generation’s life is at stake.”"
